Mission

Teagal's mission is to help people get access to the tools, knowledge and mentors needed to make progress in their careers. Initially, we are focused on helping professionals mentor each other.

Professionals have several unmet needs. Some grapple with challenges around their profession. Others struggle with issues like getting a promotion, organizational politics etc. Yet others struggle with presentation skills or time management. And yet, these are the very things that are not taught in schools or available in most companies.

Mentors have already solved the challenges that the mentee is looking to solve. They can provide a sense of perspective. They can help make subtle shifts on how to approach a job. They can bring to your attention issues that no one else has told you about. Mentors benefit equally as well. Studies have shown that benefits for mentors include increased chances of promotions, higher pay, better relational skills and a general sense of well-being. This is understandable because the higher one goes in the management ranks the more important relationship skills become. Also, the older one gets the stronger one's sense of wanting to give back.
